Show Your Love #VoxPhotoLove

There’s now a way you can be part of the exhibit, even if you can’t make it: upload a photo to Twitter or Instagram, responding to the theme, “What Does Love Look Like?” and hashtag it #voxphotolove. The photo can be of anything that represents love to you. We’ll have a live stream of your photos as part of the installation on June 26 – 27th in Downtown Los Angeles, right next to photos of Love from seven regions around the world. Your photo caption should look like: “What Does Love Look Like?” Upload your own photo of love and hashtag it ‪#‎voxphotolove #voxphotoproject‬ and it’ll be displayed at the Vox Photo Project exhibit on June 26-27 in DTLA. #journeytoVOX … And Now We Are VOX!

We were many things! At first we were just one – Dolce Wang. Teaching mathematics and doing construction on a volunteer trip to Ghana in 2006. Formalization Then we were Mi Voz – the beginning of our “official program” in 2011. Our aim – empowering self-expression in at-risk commmunities, around the world; through photography. Dolce gathered together a team and formulated a curriculum for the photo-workshop which taught participants to learn the basics of photography to capture their own stories around the themes of Interesting People and Places, A Day in the Life, and What Does Love Look Like? We worked with a special needs orphanage and school in Bogotá, Colombia called Hogares Luz y Vida. Inaugural Event Then, in 2012 we expanded to a broader community of family, friends and all-round awesome people who believed that we could make a change around the world, if we just pooled our resources. Expansion Over 2012 to 2014, we became more than just mi Voz. More than just Luz y Vida in Bogotá, we became globe-trotters. Taking our curriculum and resources to over 6 other communities in 6 other countries and garnering the voices of over 10,000 photos. Eventually, in the beginning of 2015 we came full circle, to our backyard of Los Angeles, working with our own at-risk communities and giving voice to our own voiceless, primarily through The Covenant House. And now we are...
